William Hastings is a minor character mentioned in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. He has been deceased five years as of Dagny's meeting with his widow. The head of the laboratory of the Twentieth Century Motor Company. Galt worked for him until the Starnes heirs took over the factory; Hastings quit just after Galt did and joined the strike some years later.
