WPBZ signed on as 103.1 The Buzz on July 3rd, 1995 (it was an affiliate of the "Z Rock" radio network before then), and its 90,000-watt signal blankets South Florida's east coast from Hollywood in the south all the way to Sebastian in the north, a span of over 125 miles.
WPBZ's transmitter is located on the west side of Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound and is 972 feet high. Also sharing WPBZ's transmitter tower are stations WMBX and WKGR.
