WUnderground is an undergraduate satirical newspaper founded in 2003 at Washington University in St. Louis. Published bi-weekly and distributed campus-wide and locally, WUnderground’s articles and short content comment on current events at WashU and across the nation. WUnderground parodies traditional university newspapers, such as WashU’s Student Life, through its AP-style voice and its inclusion of stock campus newspaper features including infographics, "what do you think?" interviews, open forum editorial letters, polls, and classified ads. In March 2008, WUnderground’s ever-changing slogan box described the paper as “the end result of WashU not having a journalism school.” In 2005, WUnderground began publishing issues online. In 2008, the paper launched a revamp of its site: http://wunderground.wustl.edu In 2008, WUnderground was granted an ISSN number (1938-0089) by the Library of Congress, recognizing the paper as a certified periodical publication.
