WWRL is a radio station in New York City, broadcasting at 1600 kHz AM owned by Access.1 Communications. Since September 1, 2006, it is the flagship station of the Air America Radio network, replacing WLIB.
In addition to its Air America shows, WLIB airs local programming, including its morning show hosted by Coz Carson, as well as the syndicated Doug Stephan's Good Day, Keepin' It Real with Al Sharpton, The Ed Schultz Show, and The Alan Colmes Show. Beginning in early April 2008, WWRL began preempting Air America's The Lionel Show and The Thom Hartmann Program to air other programming, including Schultz's show (which did not have an airing in the New York market), as well as preempting the recently added third hour of The Rachel Maddow Show and Clout with Richard Greene to air Sharpton and Colmes' shows (although WWRL airs Clout in late night prior to its morning show).
