The station is owned by Mexican media giant Grupo Televisa, and its programming and sales rights are held by Bay City Television, Inc., a California corporation owned by Televisa. Televisa is the owner since Mexican law does not allow foreigners to own any media outlets (similar to the U.S. law that prohibits non-U.S. owners of terrestrial television and radio stations).
