YES Prep Public Schools is a network of public, open-enrollment charter schools located throughout Greater Houston. The YES network has its headquarters in Greater Sharpstown, Houston. The YES program is a university-preparatory program for grades 6-12.
YES (which stands for Youth Engaged in Service) began in 1995 as Project YES. The program was founded at Rusk Elementary School in the Houston Independent School District. Since 1998, YES Prep has been operating under a state charter. YES graduated its first senior class in 2001, and since then has sent 100 percent of its graduating seniors to four-year colleges.
Beginning in 2003, YES opened a second campus in northeast Houston, eventually expanding to the ten campuses operating today. Over 5,400 students are served by the following schools:
