Yevgeny Babich

Yevgeny Makarovich Babich (January 7, 1921 – June 11, 1972) was a ice hockey player who played in the Soviet Hockey League. Babich played for HC CSKA Moscow. He was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1953. Babich was Jewish, as were fellow Soviet Olympic gold medalist hockey players Alfred Kucherevsky, Yuri Lyapkin, and Vladimir Myashkin. He committed suicide by hanging himself in a bathroom.
