The Tell-Tale Heart is a 1953 animated short film produced by UPA, which retells the Edgar Allan Poe story of a man who is haunted by the beating heart of the man he has murdered. It stars the voices of Stanley Baker and James Mason. The movie was adapted by Fred Gable and Bill Scott and directed by Ted Parmelee. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject, Cartoons. In 1994 it was voted #24 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field.
