China Charter Township is a charter township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,340 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Township has a total area of 34.4 square miles (89.0 km²), all land. The township's master plan shows that it consists mostly of agricultural and residential land. The northeast corner of the Township, near the City of St. Clair, has small suburban-style developments, an elementary school and some retail.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,340 people, 1,106 households, and 944 families residing in the township. The population density was 97.2 per square mile (37.5/km²). There were 1,130 housing units at an average density of 32.9/sq mi (12.7/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.20% White, 0.33% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.08% of the population.
There were 1,106 households out of which 42.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.8% were married couples living together, 5.1% had a female householder with no husband present,
