Monty Python Sings is a comedy album of songs written by the Monty Python team.
The song "Oliver Cromwell" was never released prior to this album. It also contains a new recording "I've Got Two Legs," which had previously only been released as part of live recordings, and the previously rare single version of "The Lumberjack Song". The album also has the complete version of the "Medical Love Song" and "Henry Kissinger," which each had a verse cut out of its appearance on Monty Python's Contractual Obligation Album.
Tracks 3, 6, and 25 are studio re-recordings of songs originally featured in the series Monty Python's Flying Circus. Tracks 3 and 25 were originally released on a 1971 single together (track 25 also appeared on Another Monty Python Record), while track 6 previously appeared on Monty Python's Previous Record.
Track 18 is from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Tracks 1 and 15 are from the film Life of Brian.
Tracks 4, 7, 11, 17, 23, and 24 are from the film Meaning of Life.
Track 14 is from the LP Monty Python's Previous Record.
Track 16 is from the LP Matching Tie and Handkerchief.
