Guildford (borough) is a local government district with borough status in Surrey, England. It is named after Guildford where its council is based.
The district was formed on April 1, 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, as a merge of the municipal borough of Guildford, and Guildford Rural District.
The 3 May 2007 borough elections produced 26 Conservative seats and 22 Liberal Democrat seats.
