Chris Daly (born August 13, 1972) is a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. He represents District 6, encompassing the Civic Center, Tenderloin and South of Market districts, as well as Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island and the northern half of the Mission District (known as Inner Mission). At age 28, he was elected to the Board in 2000, and re-elected in 2002 and 2006. In addition to being a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, he represents San Francisco County on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board of Directors.
Daly grew up in Bowie, Maryland and Gaithersburg, Maryland, suburbs north of Washington, DC. His father was a federal employee and consultant, and his mother an accountant.
Daly was valedictorian of his High School class and was drawn to service as a teenager through the 4-H club. He attended Duke University, and although he was part of an effort to prevent the school from razing apartment buildings to build a parking lot, he never finished college and does not have a degree. He moved to San Francisco in 1993, where he became involved in local politics through an advocacy group for the homeless called Mission Agenda. At one
