In the fictional Star Wars Expanded Universe, the Sith Empire refers to several empires formed by the Sith. The Old Sith Empire (commonly referred to as simply "Sith Empire") was an ancient empire established by Ajunta Pall and his Dark Jedi who were banished from the Galactic Republic. They were seen as gods by the native Sith and made themselves their rulers. The Old Sith Empire was far smaller than the Republic, but much wealthier, and in possession of bizarre, potent technology.
