Downtown faced a similar fate to many of MTV's other cartoons - it only lasted one season (13 episodes). While there is little hope for another season, there has been an outcry for a DVD release of the series since the show is currently not being broadcast. The use of an original score rather than licensed music would make such a DVD release easier.
