Mantis is a Bolliger and Mabillard stand-up roller coaster at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. It set several stand-up coaster records, including height (145 feet), speed (60 mph), steepest (52°), and inversions (four). Its four inversions are, in order: 119-foot tall loop, 103-foot tall diving loop, the world's first ever inclined loop, which is 83 feet tall, and a corkscrew after the mid-course brake run. Since its opening, a trim brake has been added to Mantis' first drop.
Mantis was originally designed to run 3 trains on its course. However, the complex trains have caused the loading times to be longer than anticipated. This caused the trains to "stack" on the brake runs. Stacking refers to guests waiting outside of the station on the brakes while waiting for a train to leave the station. To cure this problem, Mantis now runs only 2 trains. The other train is stored on the ground next to the ride, visible from the queue.
