KSCW-DT is the CW-affiliated television station for Wichita, Kansas. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on VHF channel 12 (virtual channel 33) from a transmitter north of Burrton. The station can also be seen on Cox cable channel 5. Owned by Schurz Communications, KSCW is sister to CBS affiliate KWCH. The two stations share studios on East 37th Street North in Wichita. Syndicated programming on the station includes: According to Jim, The King of Queens, Frasier, and Roseanne. Along with MyNetworkTV affiliate KMTW, it is one of two Wichita-area network-affiliated stations that does not have satellite stations and / or translators serving the entire Wichita / Hutchinson market,
The station made its on-air debut on August 5, 1999 as WB affiliate KWCV and was known on-air as "Kansas WB". On January 24, 2006, The WB and UPN announced that they would end broadcasting and merge. The newly combined network would be called The CW. The letters would represent the first initial of its corporate parents, CBS (the parent company of UPN) and the Warner Bros. unit of Time Warner.
