Wally Cassell (born March 3, 1915) is an American character actor. He was born Oswaldo Castellano in Agrigento, Sicily, and went to the USA at the age of two. He began his film career in 1942 and frequently appeared in small uncredited roles. His films include Sands of Iwo Jima, Flying Leathernecks, Until They Sail, The Story of G.I. Joe, and Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. He later appeared in a number of television series such as Rawhide, The Untouchables and The Beverly Hillbillies. He retired from acting in 1964 and later became a successful businessman.
According to Wally, when he visited the Hollywood producer who would start his career, Mickey Rooney was in the producer's office. When the producer said "Oswaldo Castellano" wouldn't make a good actor's name, Mickey Rooney said, "Well, then make it Wally Cassell". And that was it.
