Tina Grey (1966?-1981) is a fictional character (played by actress Amanda Wyss) in the first Nightmare on Elm Street horror movie and is notorious for being the first person killed in the film series. Elm Street heroine Nancy Thompson (portrayed by Heather Langenkamp) is her best friend; Tina confides in her about her nightmare involving Nightmare villain Freddy Krueger. While spending the evening at Nancy's house, Tina and delinquent boyfriend Rod Lane lock themselves in a guest bedroom for privacy. Upon falling asleep, however, Freddy catches up to Tina in her dreams and mangles her in real life. While slicing Tina to shreds, Krueger makes the death even more memorable by dragging her body up a wall and halfway across the ceiling, where it is dropped upon her expiration. In the meantime, Rod (who is awake) is forced to helplessly watch as Freddy (invisible to him) mangles his girlfriend before his very eyes. Naturally, due to the locked door, he becomes the main suspect in Tina's death and is soon arrest for her murder. In a daydream Nancy has at school the following day, Tina appears in a blood-soaked body bag and calls Nancy's name repeatedly.
