When Roger accidentally breaks his TV, he pesters Stan to buy him a replacement. Stan refuses, and things go from bad to worse: his CIA demonstration goes horribly wrong, he becomes drunk in a bar, and when Roger picks him up they get into an accident, resulting in Stan receiving a DUI and being placed under house arrest. Back home, Stan and Roger get into a fight where they agree to switch places. Roger gets a job as a car salesman, while Stan stays at home and gets drunk.
The novelty of the switch wears off when Roger faces increased pressure at work and his advice to Hayley (she could keep monkeys, which her activist group set free from an animal testing lab, in the house) and Steve (giving nearly nude photos of himself to a girl he's chasing) comes back to haunt him.
