The game is the second in a Shadowrun series of videogame adaptations, although the games themselves have no direct story relation other than being set in the Shadowrun universe. The Genesis Shadowrun has a more open ended (or sandbox) style of gameplay than its SNES precursor (Shadowrun by Beam Software).
