The Family Game was a game show hosted by Bob Barker. Geoff Edwards was originally set to host the pilot. At the last minute, Edwards was fired and the pilot ("run-thru") was hosted by Barris. The ABC executive, Fred Silverman, greenlighted the show but mandated that someone other than Barris be the host. Barker was selected without a screen test or pilot.
