Mushroom Records was a recording label company based in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, founded by Shelly Siegel along with Mike Flicker and Howard Leese from Mushroom Studios. The Mushroom label released recordings in Canada and in the United States. The company was also incorporated in the U.S. and maintained a second office in Los Angeles, California for most of its lifetime. Some Mushroom recordings were also released in Europe through Arista Records.
During the 1970s, Mushroom released several successful albums from artists such as Doucette, Heart and Chilliwack, but Siegel's sudden death due to aneurysm on 17 January 1979 led to the demise of the label (HAHAHAHA). Heart's two albums for Mushroom were later purchased and re-issued by Capitol Records in the early 1980s.
