"From Agnes—With Love" is an episode of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone. James Elwood, a programmer, replaces Fred after that computer programmer cannot resolve some unknown functional error the computer has. James quickly fixes the problem, and later develops a romantic interest with a co-worker Millie. After he proves to be romantically inept with a live female, he resorts to his computer (named Agnes) for advice. However, the computer ends up giving James bad advice as it eventually leads to Millie meeting another male employee (who ends up spending the evening with James' romantic rival). The next day, James gradually realizes that 'Agnes,' the supercomputer he works on, has fallen in love with him, as the computer begins to lose logical control over its own functions. James is unable to resolve Agnes' dysfunctional operation and his boss suggests he take a vacation. His replacement? His romantic rival, a computer programmer that was below his level. less
