Commissioner Simmonds, in his only other appearance on the series, is disgusted with the Alphans' disinterest in trying to attempt a return to Earth; he is the only one who has not accepted the inevitable: they don't have the technology to return, they don't have the information, they don't have the resources.
Just then, an alien spacecraft makes a hard landing; investigating it, the Alphans conclude the occupants are dead, as there are no life signs. When they attempt to penetrate one of the capsules, it shorts out and destroys the being inside. Then, the central column begins operating and the other occupants rise to life. The leader, Captain Zantor, accepts the explanation of Dr. Russell and Commander Koenig, and decides there was no malice. He pilots the craft to Moonbase Alpha where it is docked and repairs are carried out.
