Gangadhar Gopal Gadgil (Devanagari: गंगाधर गोपाळ गाडगीळ) (August 25, 1923 – September 15, 2008 ) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India.
He was born in Mumbai in 1923. After receiving a master's degree in economics from the University of Mumbai, he worked as a professor of economics at Sydenham College and also a few other colleges in Mumbai.
Gadgil stood for consumer rights. He was associated with Grahak Panchayat, Mumbai for a long time, and served for 15 years as the organization's president.
He wrote text books on Economics for college students. For some time, he served as an economic and financial advisor to Walchand Hirachand Group.
Gadgil wrote novels, travelogues, one-act plays, literary critiques, children's stories, and a large number of short stories.
He was associated with various literary institutions in India. He served as the vice president of Sahitya Akademi during 1988-1993.
