Sin (real name Synthia Schmidt) is a fictional character, a villainness in the Marvel Universe. She is the daughter of the Red Skull. Sin (real name Synthia Schmidt) is a fictional character, a villainness in the Marvel Universe. She is the daughter of the Red Skull. Mother Superior first appeared in Captain America (1st series) #290 (February 1984), and was created by J.M. DeMatteis and Paul Neary. The character subsequently appears as Sin in Captain America #355-357 (July-September 1989). Sin appeared as part of the "Sisters of Sin" entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Update '89 #7, and in the All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z #10 (2006). Seeking an heir, the Red Skull fathered a daughter with a washerwoman. The woman died in childbirth, and the Red Skull almost killed the child, angry that it was a girl. One of his followers, Susan Scarbo, convinced him not to, telling him she would raise the girl herself as her nanny. The Skull agreed and left the girl (now named Synthia) to be raised by Scarbo, who indoctrinated her with the Skull's views as she grew up. The Skull returned... less
