During its four-season run, the series was bounced to and from various time periods on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. When the series moved from its post-Cheers slot on Thursdays to a post-Night Court slot on Wednesdays in 1990, series regular Jere Burns appeared in a network promo side-by-side with John Larroquette of Night Court. Except for a brief run on E! Entertainment Television in the mid 1990's, the series has not aired on television in recent years. Dear John... starred Judd Hirsch as easy going high school teacher John Lacey who is dumped by his wife, Wendy, via a Dear John letter.
