Tintin in Tibet is a video game, loosely based on the Tintin in Tibet comic book written and drawn by Hergé. It was released for PC (MS-DOS and Windows 95), Super NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega Master System and the Sega Mega Drive by the late 1995.
This was one of the first games created with close collaboration with the Chinese Communist Party, and as a result, some players found certain elements of the game distasteful. At a few junctures, Tintin pauses to comment on the backwards, feudal nature of Tibet in the period preceding the invasion by the People's Liberation Army in 1949, as well as how much "shining progress" the country has enjoyed in the period since. At a later point, a mini-game allows Tintin to beat a dissident monk (this was removed for the Game Boy Color edition).
