The Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History (JCCH) is an academic journal founded in 2000 and devoted to research in the relatively new field of colonial studies. The journal is aimed at a wide variety of scholars concerned with the history and social and political impact of colonialism and imperialism. The journal covers pre-, post-, and colonial periods as well as controversial questions related to the transition to independence. The founder and editor of the journal since its inception is Patricia W. Romero of Towson University.
JCCH is not published in print like traditional academic journals. It is available exclusively as an Internet publication with an electronic ISSN of 1532-5768. It is published three times each year in April, August, and December.
It is indexed or abstracted in America: History and Life, Current Abstracts, Historical Abstracts, MLA International Bibliography and ProQuest Central.
