"My Rule of Thumb" is the 56th episode of the American sitcom Scrubs. It originally aired as Episode 10 of Season 3 on January 22, 2004. Danni temporarily moves in with J.D. and Turk. J.D. fears she might stay for good. Carla and Elliot try to help a 38-year-old dying patient whose only regret in life is still being a virgin, so they look for a male prostitute, but they end up getting arrested (charged with prostitution). When they come back to the hospital they find out that Ted, in a moment of kindness, had sex with her, finally granting her last wish. Carla asks Dr. Cox to talk to Turk to better know him, which he only does in respect for her. Dr. Cox and Turk discuss over a patient who is getting a new liver. Dr. Cox wants to give the liver to this patient, but Turk disagrees after the patient says he has been drinking. Turk and Dr. Cox spar verbally throughout the episode, not hiding his disdain for surgeons. In the end Carla asks what Dr. Cox thought of Turk.
