Greg Arkin is a nerdish bug collector. His mom finds a videotape he has taken of Lana (a family friend) without her knowledge. The ensuing confrontation causes Greg to become angry and leave his house in his car. While driving, his collection of kryptonite irradiated bugs gets loose and stings him, transforming him into a half man/half insect monster.
At roughly the same time, Clark dreams of Lana and wakes up to find himself floating above his bed. This is the first instance of Clark "flying" in Smallville. Later Clark confronts Whitney over the Smallville High hazing ritual where Whitney and his friends hung Clark up like a scarecrow. Whitney demands that Clark return Lana's necklace which had been placed on him during the hazing...
