The game's main point is to survive as a wolf. This is handled by maintaining the wolf's health, hunger, stamina and thirst, the status of these is shown at the bottom of the screen. This part of the screen can also be used to initiate actions such as eating, drinking, sleeping, and using the wolf's senses, though there are also keys which serve the same purpose. The wolf's senses (sight, smell, hearing) are used to locate prey and evade human hunters.
