Adventure is the follow up album to Television's critically acclaimed debut, Marquee Moon. Upon its release, the album fared worse than its predecessor in the United States but entered the charts at #7 in the Britain. A noticeable difference between Adventure and Marquee Moon is in the production. Where Marquee Moon is a raw and straightforward album, Adventure has softer and more layered sound with added nuances, such as keyboard textures and back-up vocals. Two of the songs, "Foxhole" and "Careful" were older songs from the band's live set. The complex guitar work of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd that gave Marquee Moon its appeal is still apparent on Adventure. All songs written by Tom Verlaine unless otherwise indicated. Tracks 9-12 are bonus tracks released exclusively on the CD reissue. Tracks 10 and 11 are alternate versions of the original songs.
