The record, which similar to Junior Jack's "Room 5" owed a debt to Oliver Cheatham, became a Top 10 hit in the UK Singles Chart when licenced through UMTV and also notched up over 20,000 plays on the radio It also contained a re-worked sample replay of "Back At Ya" by Kerr, used throughout most of the song. The sample was replayed by Mark Summers at Scorccio Music Replays, and then later this replay (mainly a keyboard riff) was re-edited to fit the tempo and pitch of "The Weekend". In the United States, "The Weekend" was also a Top 10 hit on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart...
