Jeff Jones

Jeff Jones is a Canadian Bass guitar player. He first gained fame as a member of the gospel rock band Ocean. Their million-selling 1971 single "Put Your Hand in the Hand", was penned by Gene MacLellan. Jeff Jones is a Canadian Bass guitar player. He first gained fame as a member of the gospel rock band Ocean. Their million-selling 1971 single "Put Your Hand in the Hand", was penned by Gene MacLellan. The gramophone record received a gold disc awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America on 3 May 1971. The group disbanded in 1975. Jones is also known as a co-founder of Toronto rock band Rush. He performed with Alex Lifeson and John Rutsey in the first incarnation of Rush, serving as the primary vocalist and bassist in the summer of 1968. He was subsequently replaced by Geddy Lee in September of that year. Jones later joined Red Rider and still performs with leader Tom Cochrane. He also works on videos showing Eastwood basses.
