Jon is asleep in his bed one morning when Odie wakes him up. After briefly engaging with Odie in some small talk, Jon overhears the television in the living room and realizes that he had left it on all night. He and Odie run into the living room and find Garfield sitting in an easy chair, having been apparently hypnotized by watching TV all night. Just before Jon shuts the TV off, he sees an advertisement by Binky the Clown stating that he visits people’s homes for their birthdays. Jon then puts Garfield to bed and he and Odie leave the house to go shopping.
