Claude Bowes-Lyon, 13th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (21 July 1824 - 16 February 1904) was a British peer. He was the 13th holder of the Earldom of Strathmore and Kinghorne.
He was born in Redburn, Hertfordshire. He was the second surviving son of Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis (son of the 11th Earl) and his wife Charlotte Grimstead.

He was born in Redburn, Hertfordshire. He was the second surviving son of Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis (son of the 11th Earl) and his wife Charlotte Grimstead.
His paternal grandparents were Thomas Bowes-Lyon, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and his first wife Mary Elizabeth Louisa Rodney Carpenter. His maternal grandparents were Joseph Valentine Grimstead and Charlotte Sarah Jane Walsh.
Note: Charlotte Sarah Jane Grimstead (nee Walsh) was Claude's favourite grandparent. Mrs Grimstead was a Widow ever since 1809 and she became known as a weeping Widow. Claude managed to help her through her long Widowhood until she died on 1848 aged around 81 years old.
