Clean Slate by Fortres Grand Corporation is a "non-restrictive disk protection" piece of computer software.
Clean Slate 5.0 is compatible with many versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Vista. An older version, Clean Slate 3.0, is also compatible with Windows 98 and Windows Me.
Clean Slate is designed to protect computers for public use (such as in internet cafes, academic computer labs, etc.) from malicious or inept users, while maintaining an unrestrictive state. It will scour drives back to their original state upon reboot or log off. Clean Slate restores the computer to its original configuration discarding unwanted user changes: including erased files, installed software, downloaded spyware and adware, downloaded viruses and Trojan horses, and altered icons. In addition to drive protection, Clean Slate also gives Administrators the option to choose what folders to exempt from going back to their original state; therefore, changes to that chosen folder(s) will be permanent.
