"The List" is a 1995 episode of The X-Files television series. It was the fifth episode broadcast in the show's third season. "The List" involves the agent's investigation of a case where a death row inmate declares that he'll be reincarnated and that as a result five men will die. A death row inmate, Napolean "Neech" Manley is brought to the electric chair. As his final words he claims that he will be reincarnated to avenge the cruelty he has suffered and that five men will die. Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are brought on the case when one of the death row guards is found dead in Neech's cell. Scully finds the body decomposing and covered with maggots. The prisoners believe that Neech has been reincarnated. Scully is grabbed by one of the guards, Parmelly, who tells her that a prisoner, Rocque, has a list of the people who are going to die.
