At the spa, Emily has made sure that all of their planned activities coincide with each other's, and it takes Lorelai some time to finally realize that all Emily wants is some mother-daughter together time. They leave the spa for dinner, but wind up at a bar drinking martinis, and when Emily dances with another man she blames Lorelai and they decide to leave the spa early after discussing their mother-daughter relationship in comparison to Lorelai and Rory's.
