In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames are called in when the adult daughter of a retired policeman turns up missing. His connections get him the high priority that puts the detectives on the case.
The investigation leads Goren and Eames to the victim's boyfriend, who is a political activist. While on the trail of their suspect, they find in his apartment traces of explosives and other evidence of homemade bombs. After receiving a terrifying video message and questioning a fundamentalist shoolteacher, they are convinced this could be something involving a terrorist group and a suicide bombing attack.
The detectives soon realise a forthcoming Veteran's Day parade is being targeted, and they join forces with federal agents in a desperate intent to stop the criminal action.
