Included Types

Included types are types that are automatically added. For instance, if type:person is an included type on type:actor, then a new topic of type:actor will automatically be typed person as well. In this way the properties associated with the person type (such as gender, height, weight, parents) don't need to be duplicated in the actor type.

This is not true 'inheritance' - it is a looser association than that. In fact, if you wanted to add an actor 'Lassie', you could subsequently remove the type 'person' from that topic - Lassie could therefore be an actor and not a person.

Generally, most types have type:topic as an included type, although this isn't displayed. As such, the properties of type:topic such as description, weblink(s) and image are included.
