Within Berkeley High School, there are several "small schools" which are learning programs with specific goals.
CAS is a small school that emphasizes media literacy and communication skills in a context of socal justice. The CAS program is designed to help students incorporate real-world experiences into their high school education while they explore issues of social justice, social change, and social responsibility.
The objectives of CAS are to encourage intellectual and personal growth through communications arts; to develop a sense of community among students, teachers, and families; and to work for social justice.
Unlike other students at Berkeley High, CAS students work with the same group of 60-90 studentsover the course of their four yearsof high school
Other Small schools include the Community Partnership Academy (CPA), the School for Social Justice and Ecology (SSJE), and the Arts and Hummanities Academy (AHA)
