We periodically do extracts from Wikipedia to create new topics based on articles in Wikipedia. These topics contain short summaries taken from Wikipedia that can be replaced by a newly created description written by Freebase users. When you create a new topic it isn't based on one of these Wikipedia articles and therefore just has a place for a Freebase user to add a description.

The way the WP text is smooshed into the FB summary sometimes looks bad. Check out http://www.freebase.com/view/en/thomas_newman, which starts like this:
Not to be confused with Tom Newman Thomas Montgomery Newman
Over on WP, that's two paragraphs. I'm not sure if you have the ability to preserve the paragraphs in your field. One workaround would be to stick some marker like // between them.
