Peggy's recurring insecurities over her size 16 feet are triggered when Dale and Nancy surprise Hank and Peggy with a night of bowling, which results in Peggy returning home rather than wearing bowling shoe rentals, which have the sizes prominently displayed on the back. Her insecurities are exacerbated later when she goes to a shoe store specializing in women's large shoes and discovers that her feet are now sized at 16½ and that she 'has a shot at the Big 2-0'. After she retreats to her car and sobs in despair, she is approached by another patron who gives her the card of a man who made her feel good about her own large feet.
