"The Cat and the Canary" is the first episode of the second season of the animated series Justice League Unlimited. It aired May 2nd, 2005. While on a stakeout watching the movements of smugglers, Black Canary is frustrated by the tardiness of her colleague, Wildcat. She ends up taking down the smugglers on her own using martial artistry and her sonic "Canary Cry." She then notices that the smugglers had been watching an underground fight club on TV, the undefeated champion of which is Wildcat. On the Watchtower, she suavely approaches Green Arrow and spars with him. He puts her in a hold, and she requests his help with something she wishes to keep secret from the League. Seeing his reluctance, she wagers that he help her if she can get out of his hold--which she does easily. Riding on the back of her motorcycle, Green Arrow discovers from her that Wildcat is competing in Metabrawl, illegal no-holds-barred cage-fighting pitting pure martial artists versus metahumans.
