Americus Vespucius Rice (November 18, 1835 – April 4, 1904) was a nineteenth century politician, banker and businessman from Ohio.
Born in Perrysville, Ohio, Rice pursued in classical studies, attended Antioch College, graduated from Union College and studied law. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he was commissioned as a captain in the 21st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment on April 27, 1861, eventually rising to brigadier general in 1865.
