Scene from Shakespeare's The Tempest is a painting by William Hogarth. Hogarth painted this work as a special project for one of his devoted band of patrons - The Earl of Macclesfield. The painting had hung on the walls of Nostell Priory, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, since 1766, when it was bought by the owner, the 5th Baron, Lord St Oswald.
