"Cold Hard Truth" is the 36th episode the fourth episode of the third season of the USA Network original series The Dead Zone, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
Johnny (Anthony Michael Hall) and Bruce (John L. Adams) are driving down the highway listening to radio shock jock Jack Jericho's (Richard Lewis) talk show "The Cold Hard Truth." After insulting a mail carrier and a member of a local biker gang, Jericho turns his attention to Johnny, who he's been following in the papers since Johnny's arrest. Jericho suggests that if Johnny is doing Sheriff Walt Bannerman's (Chris Bruno) job for him, maybe he's also involved with Walt's wife Sarah (Nicole deBoer). Infuriated, Johnny turns his Jeep around and heads for the radio station.
When Johnny and Bruce arrive, Jericho sees Johnny and puts the microphone in his face. Johnny tells Jericho that his friends are off-limits, and as he swats the microphone away, he is hit with a series of images, including a red orb...
