Elizabeth, a young girl who recently moved to town, has nothing to do because of the rain. She starts watching a soap opera called Looking Toward Tomorrow, which is about a young girl named Elinor, on channel six. Elizabeth notices that events happening in the show happen to her a few minutes later. In the first episode, Elinor drops a glass and then receives a letter containing bad news from a neighbor who received the letter by mistake. After the show ends, Elizabeth drops a glass inside her kitchen, and then her neighbor gives her a letter that was supposed to be delivered to her. The letter is from her old friend, Mary, who tells her that she can't visit her and that her hamster had died. The next day, on Looking Toward Tomorrow, Elinor's mother loses her memory in a freak accident. In real life, Elizabeth's mother loses her memory when a tree goes through her bedroom... less
